Do you know what I love about summer?
Nope. Not the heat. I live in the South. I feel like I’m a virgin being dropped into a volcano.
Nope. Not the beach. Sand in places only my husband and medical personnel should be? Not my idea of fun.
Nope. Not less clothes. More real estate for mosquitoes to bite.
Books! That’s what I simply adore about summer. The fabulous summer beach reads! Well, y’know, beach reads that I won’t actually read on the beach… But still! And in just a couple of months, I will be lying back under the air-conditioning in my jammies, reading these wonderful releases!
Take A Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert is one of my most anticipated books! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC, and it’s wonderful! Friends to lovers and a fake relationship with an intimidatingly brilliant heroine and a grumpy but emotionally in-touch hero. And he also has a wicked case of unrequited love. The best! I plan on rereading when it releases!
My next get-on-my-Kindle-now summer read is Tools of Engagement by Tessa Bailey. It’s Tessa Bailey so it’s guaranteed to be hot, funny, snarky, swoony romantic and epic! Take a heroine with something to prove to her brother, a house renovation, a hot Texan hero and a TV competition, and what do you have? An enemies-to-lovers, forced-proximity funfest that I’m all in for!
Okay, I can’t lie. I saw the cover for A Reunion of Rivals by Reese Ryan and, whoa! Mind. Blown. Then, after wiping away copious amounts of drool, I read the blurb. And yes! It features lovers who enjoyed one summer together and who are now reunited…but as rivals. Plus, throw in a secret that the heroine is harboring. I think I just caught a case of the vapors. The happy, romance catnip vapors.
Lastly, I’m stalking—I have no shame in admitting it!—The Bad Boy of Redemption Ranch by Maisey Yates. A police officer heroine tangling with a bad boy cowboy. Um…yes. Not only do sparks promise to just snap, crackle and explode in this opposites attract romance, but this is a Maisey Yates book. So the emotion, as layers are peeled back and vulnerabilities are exposed, will undoubtedly have me snatching up tissue and doing the ugly cry thing.
So these books top my summer TBR list! C’mooooon in, summer!
