Hello – I am writing with regards to the Harlequin Historical line. I would really like to see a variety of book settings – it seems as though for the past several years, the only books that are being offered are those related to dukes and duchesses… I am an avid western historical reader and it is sooooo disappointing that your company stopped publishing western historical novels. Every month, I struggle to find books to buy from Harlequin, as it seems to be the same old stories, over and over… at least try to publish historical novels from different settings / locations and/or eras. Your Harlequin Historical line needs to be diversified.

I mean, ten years ago, there were Harlequin Historicals set in Singapore and Liberia… even Harlequin Historicals that featured gladiators and members of the Chinese dynasty. And now? Each month my choices are five books about dukes and duchesses and maybe, if I am lucky, one book set in medieval times?

I would love to read a Harlequin Historical (series!) set in the outback of Australia, or in the 1800s in Russia… or even for once in Canada, say even in the 1960s. Has there ever been a Harlequin Historical set in South America? I am just hoping for something different… anything different.

And of course – please bring back the western historical stories… ones that feature cowboys, sheriffs, outlaws… those books are my absolutely favourite.
