On Christmas morning, my husband always makes pumpkin pie. One year, when visiting family with limited sleeping space, he made 4 pumpkin pies in our motel room kitchen!

My mom makes an egg, sausage and cheese casserole for breakfast every Christmas morning. Unfortunately, I never grew to like it so it is known around my house as “yucky breakfast” since I was a kid. I still eat it though even though I’m not a fan.

You’re never too old for a Christmas stocking! My two sisters and I are the only remaining family members, so we always make sure the others have a Christmas stocking to open. In our case, it is a Christmas bag of goodies. This year, their bags have Santa and the reindeer dangling from a lighthouse. Since we all love the beach, and the Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine, these bags are perfect.

We always have our family get together on Christmas Eve. This includes a buffet including BBQ (pulled pork, beef brisket, turkey and hot links and of course the sides). We also have family favorites such as my cheese ball, shrimp, and the deserts that include cake, cheesecake and more. The important thing is that the family is together and sharing stories of past Christmas’s and those who are no longer with us.
