Author Brenda Jackson Shares Her 5 Favorite Indulgent Reads

by Brenda Jackson

When I have time, I love lying around on the beach and listening to some of my favorite audiobooks or pulling out my Kindle. I love romance stories that feature alpha men. I also love diving into a historical romance novel when I need to escape to another time. That’s why I always include a Beverly Jenkins novel in my beach bag. And because I subscribe to Passionflix, I’m always ready to read the next romance-to-movie book.

I like trying out authors who are new to me as well as returning to my favorites whose books I patiently wait to drop. Authors are readers, too. For me, due to my writing schedule, I have a long “to be read” list, but here are a few of my recommendations:

Anything Beverly Jenkins

I currently have Tempest. I love stories of the Old West, and this story about a mail-order bride has definitely piqued my interest.

The Driven Series by K. Bromberg

I just finished reading Driven since it’s the next book to be filmed by Passionflix. I like seeing how close to the book the movie is. I enjoyed reading book one and look forward to reading the other two books in the series, which will eventually be made into movies, as well.

Anything Nora Roberts

You can’t go wrong with a book by Queen Nora. I like all her new ones and I’ve gone back to reread some of her old. In fact, I’ve included Montana Sky in my beach bag. I love that book and believe I have several copies with different covers. I have read it around seven times.

Iris Bolling

I love series romance, which is why I write it. I’ve gotten into Iris Bolling’s Heart Series and love it! I just downloaded book seven, The Heart Always Wins, onto my Kindle. If you haven’t read a book by Iris Bolling, I suggest you pick up one. She has written many and you won’t be disappointed.

Lori Foster

I love reading about alpha men and Lori writes the men I love reading about. I am currently reading her Body Armor series and every hero in this series is guaranteed to give your hormones a good shake. You might want to start with book one, Under Pressure. I’m up to her most recent in the series, Fast Burn.

Delaney Diamond

An author I haven’t tried yet, but whose books I’ve heard are must-reads, is Delaney Diamond. I plan to grab her book Do Over, which hits stores May 4.

There is nothing like spending time at the beach with my treasure of books! What are you reading?
