10 New Suspense Novels to Usher in the New Year
by Karen Green
As we begin to wrap up 2017 and look forward to 2018, we know that our vision can only extend so far. The coming year is like a great suspense novel: the groundwork is laid, the scene is pretty much set, but each month, week and day will bring with it the unexpected, the unsuspected and the twists and turns that make life such a surprise. Sure, we hope in our daily life for mostly good surprises, but that’s why being a reader is such a wonderful thing—we navigate our own daily surprises with as much grace and expertise as we can muster, and then we can reach for a book where high-stakes adventure appears with every turn of the page.
So as we bid farewell to this year, let’s look forward to a year where the twists and turns of real life mimic the page only in so much as we expect the unexpected, and let’s leave the real nail-biting suspense to the land of the stories that we will happily devour all year long.
