The Christmas Swap Duo

Welcome to the Christmas Swap!
We’re excited to introduce our current new releases, the Christmas Swap duo: Waking Up to Dr. Gorgeous and Swept Away by the Seductive Stranger.
Our brief was simply to write two stories where our characters swapped houses; the rest was up to us. Working out our characters and our stories and how we were going to fit them together was great fun. We took one character from the country and sent her to the city, and moved a hero in the other direction; one country girl, one city boy, both out of their depth.
My book, Waking Up to Dr. Gorgeous, tells Luci and Seb’s story and is set in Sydney. While I don’t live in Sydney I have spent a lot of time there and I have to agree with the hype—it is a beautiful city. Luci is a South Australian girl, like me, but this was her first time in Sydney and I had a great time sending her to some of the city’s iconic sights.
Luci wanders through the Rocks, walks across the Harbour Bridge, goes boating on the harbour, eats fish-and-chips at Watsons Bay, swims at Bondi and falls in love in Manly, but my favorite place was new to me—Milk Beach. It has the most fabulous harbour views—do you agree?

I do agree, Emily! That harbour is one pretty little filly! I know my hero Callum missed it while he was slumming it in your part of the woods. Of course, he wasn’t slumming it, but for a hotshot surgeon from the city it kind of felt that way to Cal. Until he meets Felicity…
My book is set in the state of South Australia—just north of Adelaide in wine country. A real arty/crafty/foodie paradise. Cellar doors and boutique breweries. Fabulous restaurants with gourmet food, country inns and B and Bs. The kind of place that people escape the city for on a romantic weekend break.
The first part of the book, though, is set on a train, and I finally got to put my Indian Pacific experience from a few years ago into a book. A luxury train trip is such a magical thing and it was the perfect place to kick off Cal and Flick’s passionate romance.
If you’ve ever done a house swap, we’d love to hear about it. Where did you go? Was it a success or a disaster? Would you recommend it?
If you haven’t ever house swapped, where would you like to go? City or country? Mountains or the coast? Riverboat or ski chalet? Or train?
Emily—I’ve only swapped houses with friends, trading Adelaide for Brisbane, but I would love to try New York or Paris. J
Amy—I’ve never house swapped before but I’d be up for anything. J A canal boat would be awesome!
About Waking Up to Dr. Gorgeous:
1. Leave your troubles behind and escape to Sydney for a temporary house swap.
2. When a gorgeous stranger walks into your bedroom, smile—you’ve hit the jackpot!
3. Indulge in a hot fling with said stranger!
But little does nurse Luci know that her fling is about to become so much more. Because Dr. Seb Hollingsworth has ways of making her feel alive again. With Christmas just around the corner, suddenly Luci knows exactly what she wants under her tree!
Nurse Felicity Mitchell’s train journey of a lifetime is even more unforgettable when she meets Callum Hollingsworth. Neither is looking for temptation, but that doesn’t stop them from sharing one hot, wild night!
Except when they disembark, they learn that what happened on the train won’t stay on the train. Because the gorgeous stranger is Flick’s new boss…and it’s increasingly difficult to keep their chemistry under control and leave it at just one night!
