Have you checked out Harlequin’s Ultimate Guide to Summer Reading yet? Yes, we know it’s a little early to be dreaming about beach reads or enjoying a book while lying in a hammock (unless you’re lucky enough to live somewhere really warm), but we can’t help but get excited about all the amazing novels coming out next season. Check out the Guide to Summer Reading to get your own summer TBR list started — with some highlights noted below.
And we want to know what books YOU are most excited about to read this summer. Is it an emotional new novel by Susan Mallery or Emily Giffin? A hunky cowboy romance by Delores Fossen or Maisey Yates? Share your top summer picks and why in the comments!
Start off the summer season with some new books in reader-favorite miniseries. Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld are back (and in hardcover for the first time!) in The Darkest Torment, this time starring Baden, the demon of distrust. Brenda Novak returns to Whiskey Creek with a “bad boy” hero and a heroine with every reason to stay away from him in Discovering You. If cowboy heroes are more your thing, the new romance in Delores Fossen’s McCord Brother series, Lone Star Nights, is right up your alley. And Harlequin Desire’s popular Billionaires and babies series brings us a passionate new installment with a navy SEAL hero in Redeeming the Billionaire SEAL by Lauren Canan.
Relationships of various kinds take center stage in these July new releases. In Daughters of the Bride by Susan Mallery, Courtney, Sienna and Rachel put their own relationships aside and invite you to the most emotional wedding of the year…their mother’s! A wise, kick-ass warrior is honor bound to defend an emperor in debut author and So You Think You Can Write 2015 winner Lauren D.M. Smith’s fantasy The Emperor’s Arrow from Carina Press. On the romance front, police officer Wyn Bailey wants more from Cade Emmett, sexy chief of police and her brother’s best friend, if she can get Cade to view her as more than just a little sister in Riverbend Road by RaeAnne Thayne. Josie Colton must find an old clue to settle a family promise and enlists the help of ranch foreman Tanner Grange in Colton Cowboy Hideout by Carla Cassidy.
August may mark the end of summer, but things are still heating up with these books! In Bachelor Unforgiving by Brenda Jackson, Virgil Bougard vows he’ll never forgive Kara Goshay for believing a vicious lie and ending their relationship four years ago…but faking a liaison with her for media rekindles their strong sexual attraction. Lieutenant Sam Holland and Nick Cappuano are preparing to celebrate their anniversary until Sam finds herself taking on one of the most perplexing cases of her career in Fatal Identity, the newest book in Marie Force’s Fatal series. And look for a dazzling love story filled with sizzle, sass, and just a bit of southern charm in Just Kiss Me by Rachel Gibson.
So readers, what books top your TBR list for summer right now?
