Friday Night Movie: Have a Romantic Halloween In
by Amy Loosemore, Harlequin.com Team
Halloween…romantic? It can be! If braving ghosts and goblins isn’t your style this weekend, enjoy a night in with one of these romantic movies — from fun romantic comedies to bittersweet romances that will tug your heartstrings — with a paranormal or otherworldly twists.
Sally and Gillian Owens (played by Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman) have the gift of magic, but it may stand in way of discovering true love.
Mark Ruffalo stars as a lonely landscape architect who falls for the spirit of the beautiful woman (Reese Witherspoon) who used to live in his new apartment.
Continuing on the spirit theme is the classic Ghost starting Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. When Sam is killed, his spirit stays behind and he has to find a way to save his beloved Molly from danger. Who could forget that famous pottery scene?!
Now here’s an older classic from 1947. In 1900, a young widow moves to seaside cottage and forms a bond with the ghost that haunts it.
Death who takes the form of Brad Pitt (good choice, Grim Reaper!) asks a man to teach him about life on Earth…and falls in love with his guide’s daughter in the process.
Even zombies can find love in this movie! After zombie “R” (Nicholas Hoult) saves Julie (Teresa Palmer) from an attack, the two form a relationship that could change their entire post-zombie apocalypse world.
