It’s the new TV season time again, and as your favorite TV series premiere over the next few weeks, here are some BOOK series to check out based on your favorite shows!

If you love Game of Thrones, read… Legacy of Kings by Eleanor Herman.

Why: With scheming royalty, multiple POVs, swords and sorcery, and rising empires, Legacy of Kings will scratch your epic fantasy itch while you wait a little longer for the next season of Game of Thrones!

Imagine a time when the gods turn a blind eye to the agony of men, when the last of the hellions roam the plains, and evil stirs beyond the edges of the map. A time when cities burn, and in their ashes, empires rise.

Alexander, Macedon’s sixteen-year-old heir, is on the brink of discovering his fated role in conquering the known world, but finds himself drawn to a newcomer…

Katerina must navigate the dark secrets of court life while keeping hidden her own mission: kill the queen. But she doesn’t account for her first love…

Jacob will go to unthinkable lengths to win Katerina, even if it means having to compete with Hephaestion, a murderer sheltered by the prince.

And far across the sea, Zofia, a Persian princess and Alexander’s unmet betrothed, wants to alter her destiny by seeking the famed and deadly Spirit Eaters.

Weaving fantasy with the shocking details of real history, New York Times bestselling author of Sex with Kings Eleanor Herman reimagines the greatest emperor the world has ever known, Alexander the Great, in the first book of the Blood of Gods and Royals series.

If you love Scandal, read… The Fatal Series by Marie Force

Why: Politics and romance can be a dangerous mix, just in like Scandal. Marie Force’s latest book in the series, Fatal Frenzy, is out now.

Inauguration day is almost here…

Lieutenant Sam Holland is on leave, recovering from an attack that shook her to the core. With no case to distract her, she’s trying to stay busy—even voluntarily meeting with her new White House staff. But it’s not enough to keep the horrific memories at bay, and her family is worried…especially her husband, Vice President Nick Cappuano.

Nick is dealing with his own demons where his wife’s safety is concerned, losing night after night of sleep as he works to make sure what happened that day will never happen again. The pressure is building inside the Cappuanos’ marriage, and something’s got to give before Nick takes the oath of office.

When two college girls go missing in the midst of inauguration madness, the chief of police needs the one cop he can count on to find them and save the Metro PD from disgrace. In a case full of ugly twists and turns, Sam will have to confront her past and find her strength again…before it’s too late.

If you love The Originals or The Vampire Diaries, read… The Originals trilogy from creator Julie Plec

Why: This one should be obvious! The Originals trilogy — The Rise, The Loss and The Resurrection — reveals the untold story of The Original vampire family and is a must-read for fans of the show.

Family is power. The Original vampire family swore it to each other a thousand years ago. They pledged to remain together always and forever. But even when you’re immortal, promises are hard to keep.

Arriving in New Orleans in 1722, Original vampire siblings Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah Mikaelson believe they’ve escaped their dangerous past. But the city is lawless, a haven for witches and werewolves unwilling to share territory. The siblings are at their mercy…especially after Klaus meets the beautiful and mysterious Vivianne. Her impending marriage is key to ending the war between the supernatural factions—and Klaus’s attraction to her could destroy the uneasy alliance. As Elijah works toward securing a piece of the city for his family, and Rebekah fights her unexpected feelings for a French captain, will Klaus’s volatile desires bring their world crashing down—and tear them apart for good?

If you like Grey’s Anatomy, read… New York City Docs series from Harlequin Medical Romance

Why: Sexy docs get physical — and we’re not taking about a yearly check-up —  in the city! Much like Meredith and McDreamy, surgeon Mindy Walker is shocked to find her new boss was last night’s one-night stand in One Night in New York.

Scandal in the city!

Arriving in New York, renowned surgeon Mindy Walker is looking forward to a fresh start in the city. So she definitely doesn’t expect to find herself working alongside last night’s very uncharacteristic one-night stand—gorgeous resident Dr. Sam Napier!

Unknowingly sleeping with his new boss is catastrophic for Sam—he’s determined to become a successful pediatric surgeon on his own merit, and if this scandal gets out it could ruin both their careers!

But as the fiery sparks continue to fly, resisting one another becomes practically impossible…

What TV shows’ return are you most looking forward to this season?
