Could You Be Our Next Harlequin Author?

sytycw wattpad

Calling all aspiring authors! Harlequin’s annual So You Think You Can Write contest is teaming up with Wattpad this year to offer romance writers a unique opportunity to learn, write, get feedback and get published! Our Grand Prize is a 2-book contract with Harlequin. You could join the ranks of such past SYTYCW alumni and Harlequin authors like Jennifer Hayward, Rachel Thomas, Jan Schliesman, Amanda Cinelli and Heidi Hormel.

Also new this year is the inclusion of Carina Press — which means even more eligible categories including sci-fi/futuristic romance, LGBTQ romance, New Adult romance and more.

Ready to enter? Post your romance manuscript on Wattpad any time between July 2 and September 21, 2015 and tag it with #SYTYCW2015 and one of the 18 categories they feel best represents their work. Writers must also submit a short pitch that outlines their story. The top submissions will then be short-listed for additional rounds of voting and judging by a panel of experts. Remember, the earlier you post your story, the more time for reader feedback you get as you polish your masterpiece!

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the free So You Think You Can Write online writers’ conference September 14-18, 2015. It’s your chance to interact with other romance writers and Harlequin editors in blogs, live chats, writing challenges, Twitter events and more.

I entered SYTYCW in 2013. Never made the cut. I still like my story; but, now, I realize after just one re-reading that the story is horribly long-winded. I’m into rewrites. Will the SYTYCW judges recognize my ms didn’t make the 2013 cut and will discount the revised ms? Should I enter the 2015 contest?
