Discover the Vineyards of Calanetti
by Susan Meier, author of A Bride for the Italian Boss
July first, Harlequin Romance begins releasing the eight books of the Vineyards of Calanetti continuity series. My book, A Bride for the Italian Boss, is the first book of the print and ebooks, but the series actually kicks off on Harlequin.com with a FREE serialized online story—twenty short chapters that are put up on Harlequin.com, one chapter a day five days a week for four glorious weeks.
A Marriage Made in Monte Calanetti was so fun to write. The story itself was filled with emotion as two reunited lovers long to go back to what they had—even though everybody knows once the past is gone, it’s gone.
Set in a lovely small town in Tuscany, with a mix of international characters, the whole continuity has the feel of the kind of world we’d all like to live in. There are cafes and taverns, quaint homes, cobbled streets and even a fountain with a legend of making your wish come true.
The hero and heroine of A Bride for the Italian Boss, Dani and Chef Rafe even toss a coin or two as they try to figure out their situation, but Dani’s a former foster kid who doesn’t just need security, she longs for family…and Rafe? Rafe is a star. He loves the limelight, the attention of being a renowned chef, the opportunities to make money. Dani brings him back to earth and makes him happy. Still, he’s not the kind of guy to give up what he wants, so he tries to bring Dani into his world—instead of creating a new world with her. He’s sexy and smart and maybe a little too brash for his own good. But if anybody can tame him, it’s Dani.
After A Bride for the Italian Boss, Jennifer Faye’s book Return of the Italian Tycoon comes out in August.
Jen said, “Return of the Italian Tycoon was an amazing adventure to write. It all starts on Madison Avenue in New York City when advertising tycoon, Angelo Amatucci, is summoned home to Italy. His personal assistant, Kayla Hill accompanies him, but little does he know that the greatest assistance she can give him isn’t her professional skills. Instead she opens his eyes to the many charms of Calanetti. Not only did I fall for the sexy hero, but I adored the delightful Tuscany village.”
Next up in September is Michelle Douglas with Reunited by a Baby Secret. After a magical holiday fling, Marianna Amatucci discovers she’s pregnant. Maybe this is fate! However, when she discovers Ryan White isn’t the laid-back surfer she met on a beach, but a high-flying businessman oozing masculine authority, she’s appalled. Will he make time in his busy schedule for Marianna and the baby? He’d better because Marianna won’t settle for anything less.
Soldier, Hero…Husband? by Cara Colter releases in October. Connor Benson is a jaundiced ex-Navy Seal who is now a world renowned security expert. There is no assignment he hates more than celebrity weddings. He considers himself immune to charm of any sort, and that goes double for romance. But when he finds himself staying at the bed and breakfast of fiery widow and school teacher, Isabella Rossi, it quickly becomes apparent that even the strongest man is not going to be immune to the love that is in the air in the magical Tuscan village of Monte Calanetti.
In November we have His Lost-and-Found Bride by Scarlet Wilson. When I asked Scarlet what she liked best about her book, she said, “For The Vineyards of Calanetti continuity I got to write my favorite kind of story—a reunion of two broken-hearts. Logan and Lucia were made for each other but the loss of a child had broken them both. Reuniting in the Tuscan hills helps them reconnect, and a visit to Venice reignites the fire and passion within them both. In my favorite scene in the book I have them dancing at night together in the Procuraties in Venice. Here’s hoping it makes it onto the cover!”
The Best Man and the Wedding Planner by Teresa Carpenter releases in December. Teresa said, “It’s been a blast going to Tuscany with my fellow Vineyards of Calanetti authors. My characters, Lindsay Reeves and Zach Sullivan in The Best Man and the Wedding Planner are both Americans in Monte Calanetti for the royal wedding, so I totally got to play tourist along with them. Oh, it’s fun to travel the Tuscan countryside with an unlimited budget! If only there wasn’t the matter of that pesky wedding between them. Lindsay’s set on making it an event to remember and Zach will do anything to stop it.”
Rebecca Burton’s January release is His Princess of Convenience. In an email to me recently, Becky said, “His Princess of Convenience is special because this is Christina’s fantasy come to life when she hadn’t thought it was possible. We all have fantasies that never see fruition, but hers came true and you’re cheering for her and the man she loves like crazy! This quote from Albert Einstein says it best. ‘Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.’”
Little did Christina realize that her fantasy about Antonio was a preview of the coming attraction of her marriage to him and their great love!
The last book is Saved by the CEO by Barbara Wallace. Palazzo owner Louisa Harrison has been a mystery since she arrived in Monte Calanetti. Her neighbor Nico Amatucci is determined to discover her secrets. But he is he prepared to lose his heart?
Barbara’s character Louisa is introduced in book one when, a newcomer to Monte Calanetti, Louisa can’t speak Italian. Lucky for her she runs into my character—adorable Dani Tate, who helps her for her first few weeks in Italy. We watch Louisa evolve through all the books as she not only becomes a fixture in Monte Calanetti, but also resurrects the vineyard that had been the heart and soul of Monte Calanette and finds her own true love. <3
If you like Italy, you will love this continuity. But if you’re like me— a sucker for a good love story, one rich with emotion that makes me feel like Cinderella getting to go to the ball—you will love the romance, laughter and tears of the heroes and heroines in Monte Calanetti.
