Navy SEALs or Cowboys?

by Elle James, author of Navy SEAL Justice and Heir to Murder

Talk about a busy month! I have two releases this month. Harlequin Intrigue Navy SEAL Justice and Harlequin Romantic Suspense Heir to Murder.

Elle James_navy seal boat I didn’t know much about the Navy SEALs until I started writing stories about them. Now I know a lot more and have more to learn! I happened to be on a business trip with the company we own down to Stennis, Mississippi. I didn’t realize there was a Navy SEAL training site located there along the Pearl River. They had this boat (I took this picture) on display in front of the little museum at Stennis. It’s a Special Operations Craft — Riverine. They conduct riverine training in the swampy rivers and bayous of southern Mississippi and this is one of the kinds of crafts they use or have used in the past. I found it fascinating that they had this training in that little-known place in Mississippi. I knew I had to write a story about the SEAL teams that conduct that kind of operation. Thus the birth of Navy SEAL Justice.

Elle James-Cowboy-24033635Heir to Murder is book four in a four-book series called The Adair Affairs. My hero is Noah Scott, the ranch hand and also the long-lost son of a millionaire. I’ve lived on a small ranch in the Texas hill country and I’ve raised horses, cows, goats and even ostriches and emus! I guess you could say I know one end of a horse from another. The people who lived around our ranch raised livestock and some were involved in the rodeo circuit. This photo of a cowboy and his horse (purchased stock from Bigstock.com) is very much like my hero Noah. He loves horses and being outside. Most cowboys have a special connection with their horse. Don’t you think that horse feels it?

Which type of hero is your favorite: Navy SEALs or Cowboys?

About Navy SEAL Justice:

A conflicted navy SEAL and a determined FBI agent join forces in New York Times bestselling author Elle James’s continuation of Covert Cowboys, Inc.

FBI agent Melissa Bradley is used to cryptic assignments like this: retrieve package from PO Box and deliver to old friend. Package in hand, she’s attacked by thugs—and she’s not about to trust the tall, dark and dangerous rescuer who claims he was sent to protect her. A former navy SEAL turned cowboy suddenly reinstated as a SEAL, there’s clearly more to James Monahan’s covert op than he’ll admit. When their mutual friend goes missing, they join forces deep in the swamplands of southern Mississippi to find him. But as a dangerous band of traitors, terrorists and killers close in, survival means trusting each other—their toughest mission yet.

About Heir to Murder:

In this thrilling conclusion to The Adair Affairs by New York Times bestselling author Elle James, the long-lost Adair heir is finally revealed!

Thanks to a DNA test, ranch hand Noah Scott discovers he’s heir to a billion-dollar fortune. Now an Adair, Noah must come to grips with his true identity and the shocking murder of his real father. Then he discovers that the one woman he thought he could trust was spying on him for his siblings, and he cuts Rachel Blackstone out of his life.

But his father’s killer has never been caught… With all those close to Noah targets—including Rachel—Noah needs to set a dangerous trap…using himself as ultimate bait.

Navy Seals!!! I was born and raised in South Mississippi not far from Stennis as the crow flies. My brothers were all military men and all looked handsome in their uniforms. The little girl who loved her brothers (6) in uniform loves to read about military men, especially Seals.
