Introducing the Capitol K-9 Unit

By Emily Rodmell, Editor for Love Inspired

Handsome police officers, brave K-9 dogs, political intrigue and romance—the new Capitol K-9 Unit miniseries from Love Inspired Suspense has it all. Set in the nation’s capitol, this series will follow an elite K-9 unit as they try to track down the criminal who murdered a senator’s son and left the senator for dead. Along the way, members of the team will find danger, adventure…and love.

In March, author Shirlee McCoy will introduce you to the unit in her book Protection Detail. Her hero, Gavin McCord, is the captain of the Capitol K-9 Unit and was mentored by Senator Harland Jeffries, who was shot in his own home. Gage, with his trusty K-9 partner Glory by his side, is determined to find out who is responsible for this horrible crime. When he learns that a small boy from the foster home next door might have been a witness and is now in danger, he’ll do everything possible to keep him, the other children and their beautiful foster mother safe. And he’ll stop at nothing to find justice and solve this case.

But Gavin won’t have to do it alone. In the miniseries, you’ll also meet the other brave men and women of the Capitol K-9 Unit:

Duty Bound Guardian by Terri Reed (April 2015): Trevor Donovan and his Doberman, Ace, are assigned protection duty when museum curator Lana Gomez is attacked at work. But he doesn’t fully trust her because her sister plays an important role in the Jeffries case. Could she be pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes?

Trail of Evidence by Lynette Eason (May 2015): Brooke Clark never lets men get close to her, but when her old flame Jonas Parker calls with news that his son might be in danger because of evidence he picked up, she and her K-9 partner Mercy don’t hesitate to help. Maybe this is the lead they’ve been looking for.

Security Breach by Margaret Daley (June 2015): When there’s a security breach at the White House, Nicholas Cole and his dog Max are on the job. If only it wasn’t thorn-in-his-side Selena Barrow who was the one in jeopardy. Her cousin is a suspect in the Jeffries murder and she’s been investigating on her own.

Detecting Danger by Valerie Hansen (July 2015): A bomb at the Washington Monument thrusts nurse Daniella Dunne into the spotlight and into danger. Now she must depend on Isaac Black and his dog Abby to keep her safe when her witness protection identity is compromised.

Proof of Innocence by Lenora Worth (August 2015): Chase Zachary can’t believe that his former love Erin Eagleton might be responsible for the murder of the senator’s son. And he and his dog have spent the past six months tracking her down. What will happen now that he’s found her?

The Capitol K-9 Unit miniseries will take you on a wild and exciting ride of adventure and love!
