18 and Counting…
by Rhyannon Byrd, author of Blood Wolf Dawning (Harlequin Nocturne)
Blood Wolf Dawning, the newest release in my Bloodrunners series, is the 18th paranormal romance that I’ve written for Harlequin, and I’m pleased to say that I’m still completely in love with this captivating genre. But then, what’s not to love? Paranormal romances are dark, hot and deliciously intense—three things that I can never get enough of in a romance. But it’s the rich, vibrant characters you find in these otherworldly stories that draw me to this genre again and again, and Cian Hennessey, the hero in Blood Wolf Dawning, is one of my favorites.
An alpha werewolf with a wealth of arrogance, Cian is the ultimate bad boy, a total smartass, and at times, a complete and utter jerk. His soul is tortured, his past is dark, and his heart is so heavily guarded, it’s a miracle any woman can reach it. And yet, that’s exactly what Sayre Murphy is—Cian’s miracle. Is he stubborn? Yes. Is he difficult? God, yes. But when he finally falls, he falls hard, and in a completely forever kind of way. Sayre might have to fight like crazy for him, but in the end, when she owns every part of him—body, heart and soul—she knows the fight was completely worth it. And Cian, with his wounds healed and his witch in his arms, is finally able to embrace his future. That’s the magic—watching these dark, tortured characters travel their individual paths to love and happiness—that is so much fun to create, and what makes writing paranormal romance so incredibly satisfying.
I’m now hard at work on my 19th paranormal romance for Harlequin, which is the 8th book in my Bloodrunners series, and can’t wait to bring another story about these sexy-as-hell Lycans to my readers. I owe a tremendous amount of thanks to each and every one of you for embracing the world of the Bloodrunners over the years, and hope you’ll continue to love these wild, darkly seductive stories as much as I do.
Wishing you all an incredible 2015!
About Blood Wolf Dawning:
Ever. She might be young and inexperienced, but she was a woman. And she had finally had enough! Cian Hennessey might be the most magnificent, infuriating, arrogant male she had ever known. But the tall Bloodrunner treated her as if she were nothing more than a child, making it painfully clear that despite whatever connection they shared, he’d never see her as an adult female. After disappearing from her life for five years, the werewolf was back, claiming that she was in serious danger and must drop everything to go with him immediately.
Cian was as deadly as he was beautiful. But the young witch knew he would never cause her physical harm. The safety of her heart, however, was a different matter…
