Meet the Ladies Behind Harlequin-E’s Contemporary Romance Box Set Volume 2!

We wanted to take this opportunity to introduce readers to the Harlequin-E Contemporary Romance Boxed Set (Volume 2) authors and characters. Meet:

Rebecca Averyauthor of Maid to Crave (Man Maid Series, Book 2):

MaidToCrave(1)1) Why did you want to write Seth Lewis’ story?

Seth Lewis is one of four Army buddies trying to acclimate to civilian life.  Seth isn’t your average or normal alpha male… oh he’s alpha… and he’s all male… but he’s also got a heart of gold and a very giving spirit.  He just happens to be an exotic dancer on the side.  He’s got the body of a God and green eyes that talk of things normally spoken in whispers.  Falling for the one woman who despises him is probably fate and well deserved but his cravings for her just won’t let up.
2) What makes Tori Stewart the perfect person for Seth?

Tori Stewart overheard a conversation she shouldn’t have.  She should have expected it coming from someone like Seth, but it still stung, regardless.  With a little encouragement, she’s now ready to show her new housekeeper another side of her that he never knew existed.  However, in the process she finds he’s the very thing she’s been missing in her life and the one thing she needs desperately.  A friend.  After an ill-fated night on the town, suddenly she’s seeing things in Seth she’d rather not… things she can’t get out of her head… things that leave her craving him against her own better judgment.

3) How would you react if Tori and Seth invited you for dinner?  What would you bring with you?

I’d accept their invitation in a heartbeat since they are a lively couple and have equally entertaining friends.  I think I’d bring berries and fruit dip… just to see how the two reacted. 🙂

Maggie Wellsauthor of The Last First Date:

9781460323854-COV11) Why did you want to write Lang Shepard’s story?

Common romance tropes tend to revolve around men who are reluctant to fall in love and commit, but I don’t believe that’s true for most men. I have five brothers and a wide circle of male friends, and have yet to meet a man who didn’t want to meet ‘The One’, so I wanted to write a romance where the hero is the one actively looking for his Miss Right.

 2) What makes Jessica Vickers the perfect person for Lang?

Though she’s a little bruised and battered by love, Jessica hasn’t given up hope. When her plan to wallow away her New Year’s Eve took an unexpected turn, she went with the flow. I think her openness would be too attractive for Lang to resist.

 3) How would you react if Jessica and Lang invited you for dinner?  What would you bring with you?

I’d totally be in. Lang and Jessica are my kind of people – real, funny, and blissfully awkward. As for what I’d bring, that’s a no-brainer: tortilla chips and a giant bottle of pre-mixed margaritas.

Nicole Helm author of All I Have:

HARLEQUINe_0614_AllIHave1) Why did you want to write Mia’s story?

There were a lot of things I wanted to do with a heroine that ended up centering themselves in Mia. First of all, I wanted farmer characters. I also wanted to write about someone who struggled with ease with people/sense of self but was putting it together enough that they were ready to find love.

2) What makes Dell the perfect person for her?

Dell is outgoing and charming, but what makes him so perfect for Mia is that he takes her as she is, without making her feel self-conscious or that old social anxiety (most of the time anyway ;)) They also have a deep, abiding love for their farms and that connection makes them a great pair.

 3) If Mia & Dell invited you for dinner, what would you bring with you?

A shirt for Dell? He can’t seem to keep one on. But, you know what, scratch that, I wouldn’t mind him keeping it off.

Kristina Knightauthor of Light My Fire:

HARLEQUINe_0614_9781460336311_LightMyFire1) Why did you want to write Lily’s story?

Lily showed up in my head and would not go away! She kind of badgered me to write her, and I’m glad she did because it was so much fun taking her outside her comfort zone. Lily has had what most people would call an easy life – wealthy, connected family, good job, people in her industry who wanted to work with her. But then one thing – her show being cancelled – happened and everything she thought she wanted was different…So she was trying to find herself and trying to forge a new path all at the same time.

 2) What makes Nate the perfect person for her?

Nate’s probably a little wiser about how things work than Lily, strictly because she’s been a little protected most of her life. Nate is a risk-taker (in everything except his feelings for Lily) and he can be loud and obnoxious (in the sweetest ways) but he’s also a huge supporter of the people he believes in. And he definitely believes in Lily.

 3)  How would you react if Lily and Nate invited you for dinner, and what would you bring with you?

I’d totally accept – who wouldn’t want an invite to a rock-n-roller’s house? I’d totally leave the kiddo at home, but I’d drag RadioMan along. He’s a huge music buff… We’d bring wine! Isn’t that the dinner-gift-of-choice in LA? And while the guys were yakking about music, Lily and I would totally raid her closet.
