Cover Spotlight: Burning Dawn by Gena Showalter
by Gena Showalter, author of Burning Dawn
My heart always seems to skip a beat when I receive an email from my editor and the subject line reads, “Book cover!” My palms sweat and I chew on my bottom lip as I open the attachment to see what image the art department has selected to represent my story and characters.
Two words can describe my reaction to the BURNING DAWN image. Hormone overload. I drooled. I pet the screen. I contemplated licking the male model. How could I not? He seduced me with his eye-smolder, but forever sealed the deal with his touch-my-woman-and-die-horribly vibe. I even told my editor I needed to meet the guy—for promo reasons only, of course. Readers would love it, I just know. (hint I’m still waiting for a yes hint) (hint readers help me out hint)
I’ll give as many hints as necessary to make this happen LOL
I hope you adore the cover as much as I do. To me, the guy perfectly encapsulates everything about the hero of the story—tormented yet sizzling, Thane is the most ruthless assassin in the skies. As for the heroine…well, I’ve been told there’s a girl somewhere on the cover, perfectly encapsulating the vulnerable yet feisty Elin, but I haven’t been able to pull my gaze fromThane’s face to check.
Be sure to let us know your thoughts!
