Celebrate Harlequin Special Edition 30th Anniversary

by Gail Chasan, Senior Editor, Special Edition, Series Editorial

Welcome to Special Edition’s 30th anniversary celebration! We decided that in addition to offering some of the best of our authors and top miniseries this month, a special gift was in order. So start digging into books by USA TODAY bestselling authors RaeAnne Thayne, Christine Rimmer, Susan Crosby and Christyne Butler, as well as beloved SE contributors Gina Wilkins and Cindy Kirk. By all means enjoy another in RaeAnne’s heartwarming miniseries, The Cowboys of Cold Creek; a spinoff of Christine Rimmer’s beloved Bravo Family Ties, mixed with royalty this time, called The Bravo Royales; the next installment in SE’s uber-popular continuity, The Fortunes of Texas: Whirlwind Romance; and one more in Christyne Butler’s raucous and romantic Welcome to Destiny miniseries, for starters.

But as I’ve said before, what is a celebration without presents? So our present to you, our readers, is our bonus novella. The Anniversary Party is collaboratively written by each of our six featured authors—RaeAnne Thayne; Christine Rimmer; Susan Crosby; Christyne Butler; Gina Wilkins; and Cindy Kirk, and you will get a copy of the novella in each and every April Special Edition you buy!

And we have all kinds of special treats throughout the rest of 2012—more from RaeAnne Thayne and Christine Rimmer; more in USA TODAY bestselling author Marie Ferrarella’s Matchmaking Mamas miniseries; Allison Leigh’s continuing miniseries, Return to the Double C; the launch of twice RITA-winning author Karen Templeton’s exciting new project, Summer Sisters; and the beginning of USA TODAY author Leanne BanksRoyal Babies.

I’m excited for more of Return to the Double C and Bravo Royales. I’m interested to see what Leanne’s and Karen’s projects are about. Any hints on those?

I love all the books that include babies and cowboys. These books are so addictive. I really love linda Warren, will there ever be a set for sale with all of her books in a series?

First — happy anniversary to us! I love writing for Special Edition, and am delighted my stories continue to call the line “home.”

Marcie, my Summer Sisters series is about three cousins who spent their childhood summers together with their eccentric (to put it mildly!) grandmother in her huge waterfront house on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Now the three young women — who haven’t seen each other in more than ten years — have inherited the house after their grandmother’s death, a reunion which rips the lid off all sorts of secrets…and leads to unexpected love for all three. The first book, THE DOCTOR’S DO-OVER, will be out in September (August here on Harlequin.com); the second, A GIFT FOR ALL SEASONS, in November. 🙂

As a new author to Special Edition, I feel so blessed to be a part of this wonderful line. These books have inspired me and my writing for a long, long time. It’s a dream come true to have my name under the Special Edition banner.

    Wow – what great giveaways!
