Introducing the New Series Covers for the Lexi Charmichael Mysteries!

by Julie Moffett, author of No Test for the Wicked (Carina Press)

There are two things that are guaranteed to make an author smile. Finishing the book (hooray!) and getting a fabulous new cover for said book (double hooray!). Now make that SIX new covers and it’s PARTY time!

I’m thrilled to present the new series cover reveal for my humorous geeky Lexi Carmichael mysteries. The goal of the new covers is to give them a hipper, edgier feel and still convey the fun and geekiness of the series. For those of you not familiar with the series, Lexi Carmichael is a twenty-five year old nerd, fangirl, gamer and hacker. She has a high IQ, but struggles with social skills and personal relationships. Being a female in a male dominated career field also makes getting the job done a lot more difficult. But by using her brains and wit, she always seems able to save the day, world, guy…whatever. Throw in a couple of sexy spies, hot secret agents, capable hackers, and cute geniuses, and life for Lexi gets really, REALLY interesting.

If you look closely at the covers, each one has a clue as to the storyline. Some covers display the clue more obvious than others. Sometimes the clue is hidden in the background of the cover, and sometimes it’s a more obvious, visible clue. Regardless, all becomes clear when you read the story. I love the cleverness and fun feeling the covers portray.

The latest book in my Lexi Carmichael series, No Test for the Wicked, came out on Dec. 1. Lexi goes all 21 Jump Street and heads back to high school as a student to try to stop a group of gifted and tech savvy students from hacking into the school’s system and messing up grades and schedules. But when Lexi gets there, she discovers something a lot more sinister lurking in the school’s system. The book is a TOP PICK from Night Owl Reviews and has garnered several other 5 star reviews. I hope you’ll join Lexi and the gang for a series of fun romps through bytes, intrigue, and romance.

About No Test for the Wicked:

9781426899164-COVA Geek’s Worst Nightmare: Going Back to High School

Returning to high school is not something I ever wanted to do over–it was awful the first time around. So why do I have to go back as part of a new undercover assignment? Because the universe loves playing jokes on me, obviously.

I’ve been ordered to go all 21 Jump Street and track down the students who are breaking into the computer system, changing grades, and causing all kinds of havoc. Although I’m not thrilled about my new gig, at least it gives me something to do other than worry over the fact that I now have a boyfriend. And no freaking idea what to get him for Christmas.

Or it did give me something else to worry about, until I stumbled across a more sinister threat. I was shocked to find distinct traces of a group of international hackers inside the network. Why would dangerous cyber mercenaries be interested in a high school in the middle of Washington, D.C.? What exactly have I gotten myself into?

I loved the old covers but have to admit the new ones are colorful and fun, and definitely have a youthful vibe to them. I think Lexi would love them. Can’t wait to see what the next covers will be and, of course, can’t wait to read more of Lexi’s adventures.

The new covers will appeal to some younger readers, so that’s good. Since Lexi is young, and a good character this can help bring in that audience.
Love this series. I always look forward to the next book coming out. Keep up the great work Julie! I highly recommend these books! Enjoy.
