Bloodrunners Dream Casting

By Rhyannon Byrd, author of Dark Wolf Running (Harlequin Nocturne)

I always love it when readers talk about who they would “dream cast” as the hero or heroine in one of my books. It’s so much fun to hear their ideas, especially when someone mentions a celebrity I never would have thought of in the role, but can suddenly see exactly how they made the connection. Sometimes it’s as simple as an actor’s crooked smile or the way his mouth moves when he shapes his words. It can even go beyond the physical, being more of an attitude thing than the actual looks of a celebrity that causes us to make a particular link with a character.

For fun, I thought I would offer up my “dream cast” for the heroes in my Bloodrunners series at Harlequin Nocturne. It was harder for some of these guys than I thought it would be, but I finally have a cast that I think would be awesome. So here goes:

Mason Dillinger: Hugh Jackman when he’s all scruffy and rugged in Wolverine mode. The hair and facial features aren’t quite right for Mase, but the build and attitude just screams sexy alpha werewolf!

Jeremy Burns: Charlie Hunnam. Yum. There’s nothing more to say.

Brody Carter: Jason Momoa. He would need to have Brody’s dark auburn hair, but everything else is just perfect….

Eric Drake: Eric was the hardest one for me to cast, but in the end I’ve gone with one of my favorites: Gerard Butler. He’s a great choice for Eric, especially when he was all muscles and short hair in Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life.

And last not but not least, there’s Wyatt Pallaton, the next Bloodrunner hero to have his own story. As I was writing Dark Wolf Running, the 5th book in the series, I had several images of Benjamin Bratt that I kept close by for inspiration. He has Wyatt’s dark good looks and that attitude that screams both danger and protection. I also love that gleam he has in his dark eyes that’s just a little bit wicked. That’s so Wyatt!

After Dark Wolf Running, there will be two more books in the series: one for Eli Drake…and one for the deadly, but loveable Cian Hennessey. So my question for you today is who would you cast in these roles? Readers don’t know much about Eli at this point, except that he’s Eric and Elise’s older brother, he’s a pure-blooded werewolf…and a dangerous mercenary who was banished from their pack. Cian, on the other hand, you’ve known since Book One. So who do you picture in your mind when you read about him?

And if you have your own casting ideas for the rest of the guys, let me know those, too! I can’t wait to see who you choose!

Hugs and Best Wishes,

Rhy

About the Book

In Rhyannon Byrd’s latest Bloodrunners romance, passion and secrets collide and only their love will save two werewolves and their pack.

With his sharp gaze locked on the most magnificent female he’d ever seen, Wyatt Pallaton did his best to hold himself back. Of course, Elise Drake was hardly just any female. Fiery and cool, strong, yet at the same time achingly vulnerable, she’d turned his entire world on its head.

No matter how bloody difficult it proved to be, he was done letting her pretend he didn’t even exist. Done with letting her fight her own battles. Done driving himself slowly into this maddening state of frustrated desire. One way or another, things were about to change.

Come hell or high water, she was done running….
