When I posted the September single title covers I love, a commenter noted that she liked the original Susan Wiggs cover for Home Before Dark better than the new one. Hey, that’s cool! I’m not here to judge. I personally love the new cover of Home Before Dark. 
But it got me thinking–what if we compared covers? We’ve got two big re-releases coming out in September, Fools Rush In by Kristan Higgins and the other is that very same Susan Wiggs.

I prefer Kristan Higgins’ old cover, the dog’s face is expressive, implying he is laughing at fools.
The new Susan Wiggs’ cover is awesome. The dark colours imply sombre dark intrigue. I’ve read the book and it fits the content perfectly.
I like the pink/blue Fools Rush In. It’s simply prettier. I have an Orange BAN. Not a book ban mind you, but an ORANGE one. I hate it. So both bookcovers with orange are just not appealing to me for that reason. The pictures and layout are nice, but the colors.
I like the Susan Wiggs book with the lady sitting. The colors are nice, hopeful yellow with a serene setting. So one old one new for me. Please leave the orange alone
The older covers are both dated. The new ones are great! But I love the out doors!
I prefer the new covers on both.I like distance shots better than in your face photos.
I prefer the covers to the left for both authors. Can’t wait to read them, but have to wait in line at the library, because I haven’t worked in 3 years.

I like both of the Higgins cover. The older one looks more fun, but the more I look the new one is starting to grow on me.
I love the new cover for Susan Wiggs. The old one I’d look right over in the store if I didn’t know I like her writing.
I prefer the left cover for both. The right one for Susan’s is a gorgeous cover but I like the twilight of the other–it suits the story better to me

Thanks for all the comments! As for my own two cents? I think I’m partial to the new covers myself. I love all of Kristan’s covers, but that redesign is really something special. It’s like a breath of fresh air on the entire series! I hope the creative team behind the covers continues to make lovely covers like that.
I love Susan Wigg’s second cover (the blue one) much nice than the orange one.
