Candid moments from BEA

It seems like half of our department is at Book Expo America this week! It’s very quiet around here, to say the least.

However, with Facebook and Twitter we’re getting all the inside scoop from the staffers who are there. I saw another Harlequin employee post on Twitter that reading everyone’s BEA updates was 90% awesome, and 10% sad because she’s not there. I couldn’t agree more.

But, back to the 90% awesome part. The super-talented Jayne Hoogenberk, Manager of Social Content and Community is at BEA recording a ton of podcasts with Harlequin authors, and she’s been posting candid pictures to her Facebook account. I asked if I could repost them here, and she graciously agreed. So, here’s a taste of BEA from Jayne’s perspective….

Jayne took the shuttle to the Javitz center and saw this fab poster for the Iron Fey series!

And the author of same series - Julie Kagawa! Be sure to download her digital novella, Summer's Crossing - set in the Iron Fey world and featuring PUCK! Available FREE, June 1st!

A novel that everyone is talking about in the office: Kingdom of Childhood. Jayne read the galley in one night!

Rebecca Coleman recording her podcast with Jayne. Can't wait to hear it!

Author Lori Foster (middle) with Editorial Vice-President Margaret Marbury (right). Not sure who is on the left...

Author Gena Showalter with her editor in the Harlequin booth

Our intriped reporter Jayne, and her new boyfriend.

Author Kady Cross signing in the Harlequin booth. Have you seen the trailer for her new book Girl In The Steel Corset?

And appropriately enough - a Steampunk eReader!

Ok, now here's a secret. Even though we work at Harlequin, we get as excited to meet authors as readers do! I happen to know Jayne LURVES Sophie Littlefield's books....so I'm sure this was a total fangirl moment for Jayne!

And finally, some Harlequin books surrounding a RITA award. I like the look of that...

I hope you enjoyed this glimpse into BEA. I know I did. I can’t wait for Jayne to come back to the office so I can hear all the stories that go along with these pictures…

One Response to Candid moments from BEA

  1. I had an amazing time at BEA and being at the Harlequin Booth was definitely one of the most amazing moments.

Thank you all so much for having all those wonderful authors there to sign the books we always wanted and of course for being so welcoming and just plain awesome!
