Thank you all for your comments. It is great to see such passion for a variety of great causes.

Christina, as you know, elders receive much less attention than other “needy” groups – your 3 hours a week are, I am sure, so appreciated by those you are helping. Check out one of our past More Than Words recipients, Second Wind Dreams (www.secondwind.org). Perhaps some of the men and women at the facility you visit have a dream you could help fulfill?

Lisa, thank you for sharing your personal story. You and your mother are definitely amazing, strong women!

Kate, thanks for sharing this great information.

Donna, thanks so much for the writer’s perspective, and great to hear that MTW, Vol. 6 is a Pink Heart Pick! Happy reading.

For those who donate to or volunteer your time with registered charities and non-profits I hope you will tell them about the Harlequin More Than Words program; we’d love to see nominations come in from your favorite charities.

Keep up the good work everyone!

I tend to donate to charities I discover during book research - for example, a Rescue Ranch in Alberta that welcomed me for a visit when I was writing One Dance With The Cowboy, or the Military Families Fund when I was writing The Soldier's Homecoming. I also volunteer at the school my children attend, and occasionally I knit for charity as well.

I'm looking forward to this year's MORE THAN WORDS edition; it's the May Pink Heart Picks Book Club selection at The Pink Heart Society. :-) It's also currently sitting on my desk waiting patiently for me to get started!

I heard about this on facebook. I do alot of charity work thru out the year. I'm involve in the Cancer Walk that is heard at out local high school, been doing fund raisers. I'd like to see my donation go towards the American Cancer Foundation. They need to find a cure, my cousin has had breast cancer twice and she's a surivior but so many others have lost the fight.

Embarrassingly, I have not been very active in the charity/cause department lately. But, there has been a developing "movement" that I have been hoping to become somehow involved in.

In the wake of the tragedy surrounding Phoebe Prince and her suicide after some pretty nasty bulling, there have been a number of Young Adult authors coming together to try and do something about it!

Now, I am not an author, simply a Book Blogger who recognizes the contribution these authors are prepared to make for a very important cause. I will help the "YAAAB" in any way I can, even if it's nothing more than spreading the word!

I done here and there to charities when they have fund raisers but i mostly try to do thing that are for breast cancer awareness. My mother is a Breast cancer survivor of about 8 years now and i was her caregiver of sorts. I gave her all her shots at home she had to take and drove her to chemo and various other appointments. It was something neither of ever thought we'd go thru but we got thru it one day at a time. I guess our story is probably repeated many times over and over by lots of women who thought the same thing.

What a awesome program Harlequin has and many awesome women involved in it it seems.

I do not donate my time to a charity per say. I donate around 3 hours every week at a local nursing home, my husband, son and I. We conduct worship services and spend time with them that their families may not have the time to.
